Jerrie had the opportunity to attend Harmony College Northwest on the University of Puget Sound campus in Seattle July 22-24, 2011.  The weekend was filled with great classes presented by faculty from both Sweet Adelines and Barbershop Harmony instructors.  Jerrie was also invited to be part of the faculty as a quartet coach.  Some of the classes she participated in were Synchronization; Science of Sound; Director body language & strategies; Ring those chords; Singing the Barbershop style; and “Tune it or Die!” – just to name a few!!  Also included in the weekend were two great shows including a Mixed quartet contest; Vocal Spectrum 2006 BHS Int’l Champs; The New Originals 2010 Evergreen District Champs; Northwest Vocal Project Chorus, 2-time (and current) EVG District Chorus champs – 2-time (and current) Int’l Barbershop Youth chorus champs AND 12th place Int’l contest finishers, as well as “Frenzie” the Region 13 SAI champs who will be on their way to Houston this fall for International contest.   Faculty included Jenn Edwards, Lead, Moxie Ladies, and the 2009 SAI quartet champions.  What a treat!  So much talent, exciting, knowledgeable people with so much to share with all of us to bring back to our choruses.  Looking forward to sharing the tools to continue to expand our knowledge and ring those chords!

Jerrie is pictured here with other participants Mary Liston, Bob Thomas, and John Rettenmayer.
